This movie is perfect for kids that love action, adventure, and little blue people. Obviously, the movie ties in blue people, a sorcerer, a laughing cat, and a present-day city into a tight little bundle, complete with a moral. For a long time, the movie seems to be how the Smurfs fit in. However, it turns into an all out war, with a lovely ending. In the beginning, Papa Smurf is having a vision in which Clumsy dooms their race by losing the dragon wand. When the rest of the Smurfs kick Clumsy out of the most important festival of the year, he decides to pick some berries. On his way back, he unknowingly leads Gargamel into their safe village. It's not so safe anymore! With the city in panic, Clumsy runs towards the waterfalls, and six Smurfs decide to save him. In a foolish move, Clumsy falls into the waterfall, transporting the Smurfs into a present day city. With the Smurfs return home on the line, Papa Smurf must make some new acquaintances, and sacrifices. I would give this movie a four out of five star rating, because it is good for young kids, but not for older kids. With lots of funny scenes, and sweet dances, the Smurfs prepare to take on the big screen.
