My tips for pre-algebra placement test prep

Are you getting ready to take the pre-algebra placement test in 6th grade?  Or for the unlucky ones like myself, are you taking it in 7th grade because you moved to a new school district?  I went through it last month, so thought I'd share some prep tips with you - while it is still fresh in my mind!!
  1. BACK TO BASICS.  Basic math is KEY. Review fractions, percentages, and decimals.
  2. Make sure to go over the graphing inequalities. Learn how to use a graph to express inequalities.  (Check out  Khan acadamy - they have some cool videos that'll help you learn these concepts)
  3. Work on Least Common Multiple and Greatest Common Factor.
  4. Exponents was a big part of my tests - so make sure you brush up on that.
  5. Do you know how to simplify expressions? Make sure you do! This is all over the test.
